You Won't Believe Why Minority Leader McCarthy Is Going To Florida

Former President Donald Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy are expected to meet up in south Florida possibly to discuss the January 6 Capitol riots, the events leading up to it, and Trump's impeachment.

According to a source, Trump had at one point told McCarthy that he accepted some of the blame for the Capitol riot.

After the attack on the Capitol, McCarthy was against impeaching Trump but was open to a censure settlement. But recently McCarthy expressed some concerns about GOP conference chairwoman Liz Cheney's vote to have Trump impeached.

While the Senate is pushing for a post-impeachment trial, Trump will most likely be acquitted as he was in his trial last year.

The majority of Senate Republicans supported a measure that would challenge the constitutionality of the impeachment trial but in the end, was defeated as five from their party aligned with all 50 Democrats to reject the motion.

Trump has remained mostly quiet since leaving office given that Twitter and other social media giants permanently removed him from their platforms.

But that doesn't mean he hasn't kept busy. Earlier this week Trump established the Office of the Former President near his new home in Palm Beach County, Florida.

According to a statement, "The office will be responsible for managing President Trump's correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism," adding that "President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American people."
