Over the weekend the United States men’s national soccer team won 3-2 over Mexico and fans lost their minds.
The CONCACAF Nations League final held in Denver had to be halted at one point because the unruly crowd began chanting homophobic slurs and proceeded to throw trash at the players after American secured the victory with Christian Pulisic’s penalty kick.
USMNT player Giovanni Reyna was struck in the face with what appears to be a bottle and had to take several minutes to recover.

Then, all hell broke loose on the field when players from both teams got into a confrontation and had to be broken up.

This was defiantly not the best representation of the sport’s fans. By multiple accounts, it seems like fans of Mexico were responsible for this violence after America won the game.

If you don’t like getting your butt handed to you by America, then play better next time. But don’t throw a tantrum like an angry toddle who just lost the game. Its just bad sportsmanship.
If that clip of Reyna getting hit by something thrown from the fans doesn’t motivate you to be the BEST in the region then you are doing the wrong thing. That SHIT has no place in sports and use it EVERY a single time to help you go the extra yard.
BABY GAMES. #USMNT

While I’m not much of a sports fan in general, I’ll always side with America whatever we’re playing. If they want to take things off the field, then they’ll find out real fast America doesn’t back down.
