Straw Hat Bandit Strikes Florida Wendy’s

An armed robber wasn’t looking for food when he climbed through the drive-thru window at a Florida Wendy’s, according to police.

Surveillance video captured the events of the robbery on June 18.

Police said the robbery occurred shortly before 8 a.m. after the suspect pulled up to the drive-thru of the Orlando Wendy’s in a black Nissan Altima.

Then the man threatened an employee with a gun. The video shows the employee trying to close the window and walk away, but the man climbs his car through the window and takes the entire cash drawer before driving away.

The man was wearing a straw hat, a gray SPF mask, a hooded shirt, shorts, and water shoes at the time of the robbery.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, police said.
