White House Pushes Relief Bill As Unemployment Is Rising Fast

The White House stressed how critical it is that Congress acts “quickly” on President Biden’s proposals for economic relief after a new report came out showing 900,000 Americans filed for new claims for unemployment last week.

Brian Deese, the White House National Economic Council Director, called the job’s report “a stark reminder that we must act now” in order to get “immediate relief to families and spur our economy.”

On Thursday, Deese said, “900,000 more Americans filed claims for unemployment because they are out of work in an economy that is moving in the wrong direction. We must act now to get this virus under control, stabilize the economy, and reduce the long-term scarring that will only worsen if bold action isn’t taken.”

Deese said Biden has outlined a set of “decisive actions” in the American Rescue Plan to “extend unemployment insurance, finish the job in providing $2,000 in direct relief to Americans, and ensure that millions of our families who are struggling to make ends meet, put food on the table, and keep a roof over their head in the midst of this crisis are able to get to the other side with dignity.”

During his first day in office, Biden took executive action to extend eviction and foreclosure moratoriums to March 31 and extended the pause on federal student loan payments and interest through Sept. 30.

Deese, earlier this week, said the emergency measures “are important,” but said they are “not a substitute,” and urged Congress to pass legislation.

Biden last week unveiled a massive $1.9 trillion stimulus package proposal which aims to combat the coronavirus and begins to pump up a U.S. economy severely battered by the worst pandemic to strike the globe in a century.

Over $1 trillion of that total price tag is for direct relief to individuals and families.

Biden’s plan would also extend and expand unemployment insurance benefits “so American workers can pay their bills” and would push to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour.

As of right now, it’s unclear when Congress will begin negotiations on Biden’s proposal.

Kamala Harris Is Moving Into A Huge Historic Mansion

Everyone knows that the president lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC., but do you know where the vice president lives during their time in office?

Vice President Kamala Harris will soon be moving into a beautiful three-story Queen Anne-style home with her husband Doug Emhoff at Number One Observatory Circle. She will be the eighth vice president to reside in the home originally built in 1894 which was initially built for the superintendent of the U.S. Naval Observatory. The then-chief of naval operations later “kicked out” the superintendent so that he could occupy the house.

The building has been the official home of the sitting vice president since 1974 when the decision was made to convert it into a home for Vice President Gerald Ford. However, he never settled in before he assumed the presidency after Nixon’s resignation.

It wasn’t until 1977 that Walter Mondale, who served under President Jimmy Carter, moved in and has since been home to Vice Presidents Bush, Quayle, Gore, Cheney, Biden, and Pence, and their families. Mike Pence moved out of the home just before attending Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday.

Harris and her family will not be immediately moving in to “allow for repairs to the home that are more easily conducted with the home unoccupied,” which, according to an aide, include the chimney liners and other household maintenance.

The house sits on 72-acres and features a refurbished living room, sitting room, garden, room, two lounges, reception hall, kitchen, and dining room.

History was made on Wednesday as Harris was sworn in as the first woman and the first Black and South Asian woman to not only hold office but to become the Vice President of the United States of America.

Amazon Slammed For Offering Help To The Biden Administration

Soon after President Joe Biden was sworn in Wednesday, Amazon gave their congratulations to the Democrats and offered their services to help the new administration with its vaccine distribution effort.

Senator Lindsey Graham said that it would be “disgusting” if Amazon chose to help Biden administer the coronavirus vaccine across America but refused to help the Trump administration.

“I don’t know what kind of accountability you would have, but let’s ask ourselves the following question: Is Jeff Bezos friendly to the Democratic cause? Yes, he owns The Washington Post,” Graham told “America Reports“. “Yeah, I think it’s pretty bad … If they had this capability, they should have shared it with the Trump administration.”

Graham noted that while the first vaccines were not approved for emergency use before December, Amazon “knew it would work before the election.” However, the tech giant “waited until after the election to announce that they would offer their resources to help distribute the vaccine.”

“I think if there’d been a Democratic president, they would announce it before the election,” he added.

“As you begin your work leading the country out of the COVID-19 crisis, Amazon stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration,” Dave Clark, CEO of Amazon’s worldwide consumer business, wrote in a letter to Biden Wednesday.

“We are prepared to leverage our operations, information technology and communications capabilities and expertise to assist your administration’s vaccination efforts,” Clark continued. “Our scale allows us to make a meaningful impact immediately in the fight against Covid-19, and we stand ready to assist you in this effort.”

Graham emphasized how terrible it would look for the Amazon company if they “could have helped the Trump administration and they chose not to because they don’t like him.”

Filmmaker Michael Moore Warns Trump He Will Be Behind Bars Very Soon

Filmmaker Michael Moore, known for his documentaries that frequently address the topics of globalization and capitalism, made some grim predictions about the former President Trump’s future.

After leaving the White House on Wednesday Moore said Trump would face possible convictions and imprisonment.

Trump previously announced that he would not be attending the swearing-in of his successor and instead left the White House for Florida so Moore decided to seize the opportunity to share his disdain for Trump via Twitter.

“He has just left the White House for good. We the people have evicted him. I will go ahead & cancel the U-Haul. He now flies over the wreckage he has created, knowing we are not done with him,” Moore wrote along with an image of Trump leaving the White House for the last time. “Trial. Conviction. Imprisonment. He must pay for his actions – a first-ever for him.”

Later the same day, Moore shared an image of Trump giving a speech during his departure ceremony, Moore reiterated his assertion that Trump will find himself in prison very soon.

“Trump! STFU! GTFO! LOSER! HUGEST LOSER EVER!”Moore tweeted. “Federal prison. 3 good meals a day.”

Even though he is no longer president, Trump is still facing another impeachment that has been passed by Congress and will move to the Senate as a result of his role in the attack on the Capitol that took place on January 6 leaving five people dead.

Recently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi implied that Trump could even be considered an accessory to murder depending on the outcome of his trial in the Senate. On top of that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office announced that it would also be looking into Trump’s business affairs.

Moore has always been an outspoken critic of Trump throughout his presidency and was a particularly vocal supporter of Bernie Sanders before losing the Democratic ticket to Biden.

Even As President Biden Can’t Handle The Hard Questions

President Biden lost his cool with an Associated Press reporter Thursday who asked him questions during one of the new president’s first events.

While Biden was signing executive orders that would combat the coronavirus pandemic, Associated Press White House reporter Zeke Miller pressed him about his goal of having 100 million Americans vaccinated within his first 100 days in office. Miller wondered whether the bar should be set “higher” to encourage even more Americans to go out and get vaccinated.

The president fired back at the reporter, “When I announced it, you all said it was not possible. C’mon, gimme a break man.”

Before walking away from the group of reporters Biden added, “It’s a good start, 100 million.”

During the weeks leading up to the election, Biden formed a habit of avoiding hard questions from reporters covering his campaign. During his rare press conferences, reporters were criticized for asking “softball questions” some of which Biden seemed to have scripted answers for.

Biden also has a history of lashing out at reporters including CBS News’ Bo Erickson and Fox News’ Peter Doocy.

President Biden Lays Down The Law With Members Of His Staff

President Joe Biden gave a stern warning to new members of his administration after he was sworn in on Wednesday letting them know that he will fire them “on the spot” if he catches them failing to treat others nicely.

During his swearing-in ceremony, Biden told the new aides, ” If you’re ever working with me, and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot.”

He informed the appointees that he really wants to eliminate systemic racism and that failing to maintain his standards of decorum would cost them their jobs effective immediately.

“My dad used to have an expression,” said Biden. “He said everyone, every single person, regardless of their background, is entitled to be treated with dignity. I expect you to do that for all the folks you deal with, all the folks we work for, the American people.”

“No ifs, ands or buts – everybody, everybody is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity,” he added. “That’s been missing in a big way for the last four years.”

This call for strict workplace pleasantness comes after Biden said he would “beat the hell” out of his opponent if they were in high school.

“If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,” Biden said while campaigning in March 2018.

The statement was in stark contrast to the message of unity Biden mentioned during his inaugural address.

“We can join forces, stop the shouting and lower the temperature,” said the president. “For without unity there is no peace, only bitterness and fury. No progress, only exhausting outrage. No nation, only a state of chaos. This is our historic moment of crisis and challenge, and unity is the path forward.”

A Surprising Post From The Official POTUS Twitter Account

Moments after delivering his inaugural address, President Joe Biden made his first official post as 46th President of the United States from the @POTUS account on Twitter saying the White House will “get right to work” on his agenda.

“There is no time to waste when it comes to tackling the crises we face,” Biden wrote on the official account. “That’s why today, I am heading to the Oval Office to get right to work delivering bold action and immediate relief for American families.”

Biden is expected to immediately sign 17 executive orders and actions from the Oval Office as president, some of which are expected to bring back several Obama-era policies, and others will be reversing what Biden’s team are calling “the gravest damages” of the Trump administration.

The president’s very first action in his new position is to roll back and eliminate several Trump-era policies and directives.

Emergency crews arrived at the site of a downed military helicopter on Wednesday after the aircraft crashed during a routine training mission in New York.

According to a local News * reporter, three soldiers who were on board the helicopter were killed in the deadly crash.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office posted a statement on their official Facebook page.

  • President Biden Wants Peace But The Media Is Fighting A War

President Biden Wants Peace But The Media Is Fighting A War

President Biden’s theme during his inaugural address on Wednesday was unity, but the mainstream media was too focused on their lingering hatred for Donald Trump to get the message.

The 46th President of the United States called for a “fresh start” and pleaded with all Americans to “listen to one another” by showing respect and insisted that “politics need not be a raging fire destroying everything in its path” and “‘every disagreement doesn’t have to be a cause for total war.”

“We must end this uncivil war that pits red against blue,” declared Biden, “rural versus urban, conservative versus liberal.”

However, much of the “uncivil war” was powered by the mainstream media during Trump’s presidency and only got worst during the 2020 presidential election campaign and the time leading up to Biden’s inauguration.

The media seems to believe that Trump and everything he stands for should be entirely erased.

Just this month, ABC News’ Rick Klein and MaryAlice said, “The fact is that getting rid of Trump is the easy part. Cleansing the movement he commands, or getting rid of what he represents to so many Americans, is going to be something else.”

MSNBC contributor Eugene Robinson claimed that “millions” of Trump supporters “need to be reprogrammed.”

Katie Couric echoed this statement on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Mahar” saying, “The question is, how are we going to, really almost reprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump?”

Earlier this week MSNBC contributor Eddie Glaude accused Trump supporters of causing the devastation the coronavirus pandemic has caused our country.

“You know, we’re at a crossroads as a nation. It’s easy for us to place all of the blame on Donald Trump. He makes it easy for us, you know? He does. But there were 75, 74-plus million people who voted for him. Selfishness, greed, you know, they run rampant across the land, but you know, there’s something that President-elect Biden said: ‘To heal is to remember. To heal is to remember’” said Glaude.

“So not only do we have to remember our dead, we have to remember what brought us to this moment, what got us here,” he continued. “And it’s not just Donald Trump. It’s not just him. And that honestly will help us walk the path that we need to walk, I hope.”

Host Chris Hayes took it even further by saying that “the entire Republican Party” has “basically taken the side of the virus and ar actively trying to spread it” in retaliation for strictly enforced lockdown restrictions during the holidays.

  • Trump’s Biggest Haters Blasted For Their Russiagate Obsession

Trump’s Biggest Haters Blasted For Their Russiagate Obsession

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are receiving criticism from their own side of the aisle for their constant pursuit to find any connection between President Trump and Russia.

During an interview with Pelosi on her podcast “You and Me Both” Clinton said that her former rival had “other agendas” while serving as president and declared the truth will eventually come to light.

“I hope, historically, we will find out who he’s beholden to, who pulls his strings,” said Clinton. “I would love to see his phone records to see if he was talking to [Russian Presidenti Vladimir] Putin the day the insurgents invaded our Capitol.”

She then asked Pelosi if she would be on board with putting together a “9/11-type commission” to investigate “everything” that took place.

Pelosi quickly responded with, “I do,” then reiterated her belief that “all roads lead to Putin” when it comes to Donald Trump.

“I don’t know what Putin has on him politically, financially, or personally, but what happened last week was a gift to Putin because Putin wants to undermine democracy in our country and throughout the world,” said Pelosi. “And these people, unbeknownst to them, are Putin puppets.”

Clinton later shared the idea on Twitter.

While the two women’s obsession with Trump and his possible connection to Russia had conservatives fired up on social media but many from the left also piled on.

Kyle Kulinski, a progressive commentator, asked, “What if I told you not everything is about Russia?”

“Remember when Mueller spent 18 months and millions of dollars armed with a team of prosecutors and subpoena power, then closed his investigation after arresting *zero* Americans for conspiring with Russia? Let’s do it again! Anything to distract from how rotted neoliberalism is,” said journalist Glenn Greenwald.

Soapbox host Rania Khalek added, “A violent mob of AMERICAN right wing extremists stormed the Capitol at the encouragement of Trump and other Republican leaders, not Putin. What happened is serious and dangerous, why are Democrats this obsessed with making it about Putin while missing the real threat?”
