Biden Adviser Shames Americans For Not Sacrificing Enough During The Pandemic

Former White House COVID-19 response adviser under President Biden, Andy Slavitt said that American citizens could have done a better job handling the pandemic and if people had “sacrificed a little bit more” we would have gotten through it sooner.

Slavitt also suggested that there were “simple” solutions to preventing the spread of the disease such as “not breathing near one another in large spaces. Of course it wouldn’t have been easy and according to Slavitt it “requires a certain amount of sacrifice and change.

“We denied the virus for too long under the Trump White House,” Slavitt said on “CBS This Morning” while promoting his new book, “Preventable: The Inside Story of How Leadership Failures, Politics, and Selfishness Doomed the U.S. Coronavirus Response.” “There was too much squashing of dissent and playing on divisions. I also think we need to look at one another and ask ourselves what do we need to do better next time … In many respects, being able to sacrifice a little bit for one another to get through this and to save more lives is going to be essential. That’s something that I think we could all have done better on.”

FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver suggested a different solution.

“The pandemic wouldn’t have been as bad if public health officials had realized most people regard in-person social interaction as ‘essential’, are not bad people for it, and that a strategy centered around expecting them to sacrifice it for months at a time was never gonna work,” he said.

People were confused by Slavitt’s take, arguing it wasn’t long ago that a majority of the U.S. was under strict lockdown orders that kept Americans from their family and friends for months on end.

Many families lost loved ones during that time, whether from COVID-19 or other causes, and were denied those final precious moments with them because of the mandates. The lockdowns also proved to have devastating effects on mental health, especially among young adults. The CDC revealed that the average suicide rate for teen girls ages 12 through 17 shot up to nearly 51% during the pandemic.

Here are just a few of the savage comments that Twitter users posted in response to Slavitt’s words.

BREAKING NEWS! Another Clinton Enemy Dead From Apparent Suicide

The acclaimed TV news anchor from Alabama who broke the infamous Bill Clinton tarmac meeting story was found dead over the weekend.

Christopher Sign, just 45-years-old, was discovered deceased in his home in Scout Terrace. While investigators initially suspected the death to be a suicide there is no denying the anchor put himself in harm’s way by messing with the Clinton’s.

“Chris was a tremendous leader in our newsroom,” wrote ABC 33/40 on Saturday in tribute.

“He worked with our reporting staff on a daily basis, but also worked behind the scenes with the I-Team and with news managers on coverage of major events. You were very likely to get an email from him with a story idea in the middle of the night. He was passionate about journalism and showed it each and every day as he pushed himself and his colleagues to be the best.”

“Our deepest sympathy is shared with Christopher’s loving family and close friends,” said ABC 33/40 vice president and general manager in a statement.

“We have lost a revered colleague who’s indelible imprint will serve forever as a hallmark of decency, honesty and journalist integrity,” he added. “We can only hope to carry on his legacy. May his memory be for blessings.”

The Dallas-area native had in 2017 returned to Alabama to anchor the ABC station’s evening news show, after working for a TV station in Phoenix. While there, Sign broke the major 2016 presidential campaign news that former President Clinton in June 2016 met at Sky Harbor Airport with Lynch while the attorney general was investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of an private email server.

Sign, who played offensive lineman at Alabama in the 1990s, wrote a book about the encounter named “Secret on the Tarmac.”

Sign is survived by three sons and his wife Laura.

  • Vice President Kamala Harris’s Plane Almost Didn’t Make It To Guatemala

Vice President Kamala Harris’s Plane Almost Didn’t Make It To Guatemala

Several weeks ago President Joe Biden appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the diplomatic outreach at the border, just as a massive surge in migration caused the administration to scramble for a plan.

Harris has since come under a great deal of criticism for not only not visiting the border but going out of her way to avoid it entirely. Saturday marked the 74th day that Harris has neither traveled to the communities affected on the southern border nor held a news conference addressing her duties as manager of the administration’s response to the growing crisis.

But when she finally found the time to fly down south and fulfill her duties, Harris’s plane had to make a sudden u-turn.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ diplomatic trip to Guatemala and Mexico got off to a bumpy start Sunday after her plane was forced to return to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland about 25 minutes after it had taken off.

Air Force Two landed safely. Spokesperson Symone Sanders told reporters the plane returned because of a “technical issue” and said there were no major safety concerns.

“I’m good, I’m good,” Harris told reporters after exiting the plane. “We all said a little prayer, but we’re good.”

Harris arrived later in Guatemala’s capital than expected but in one piece. She was greeted by Guatemala’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Pedro Brolo.

A video shared on social media shows Vice President Harris and Brolo waving to a crowd upon arrival.

Harris’ trip to Central America – her first foreign trip as vice president – lasted just two days and is meant to kickstart efforts to tackle what the administration describes as the “root causes” of the crisis at the Mexican border.

  • BREAKING NEWS! Keystone Pipeline Project Has Been Abandoned

BREAKING NEWS! Keystone Pipeline Project Has Been Abandoned

It’s been months since President Joe Biden revoked the Keystone XL Pipeline’s federal permit but the developer just announced they would be abandoning the controversial project.

TC Energy permanently canceled further construction of the pipeline after conducting a comprehensive review of its options alongside the Government of Alberta, Canada, which had been a project partner, according to the energy company’s announcement on Wednesday afternoon. The company noted that the project, which had been strongly criticized by environmental groups, was suspended on Jan. 20 after Biden issued an executive order revoking its permit.

“We value the strong relationships we’ve built through the development of this Project and the experience we’ve gained,” TC Energy President and CEO François Poirier said in a statement. “We remain grateful to the many organizations that supported the Project and would have shared in its benefits.”

TC Energy said its main focus would now be on other projects that would “meet the evolving energy demand today and in the future.”

After Biden’s revocation of TC Energy’s permit to build the pipeline in the U.S., the company said it would lead to thousands of lost union jobs. The project’s labor agreement promised that it would create 42,000 American jobs and result in $2 billion in total wages.

A coalition of more than 20 states led by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen filed a federal lawsuit against the Biden administration in March, challenging the president’s Jan. 20 executive order. The states alleged that Biden overstepped his constitutional authority when he canceled the pipeline’s permit and that the order would ultimately devastate the U.S. economy.

“It’s a disgrace President Biden played politics and killed the Keystone XL Pipeline to virtue signal to liberal donors and special interest groups,” Knudsen told the Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement on Wednesday.

“The pipeline would have enhanced America’s energy independence while bringing much needed jobs, tax revenue, and economic development to rural communities in Montana and across the country,” he continued.

It has not yet been determined how the lawsuit will be affected by TC Energy’s announcement Wednesday. The next court hearing for the case is set to be held later this month.

  • WH Press Secretary Isn’t Even Trying Anymore With Softball Interviews

WH Press Secretary Isn’t Even Trying Anymore With Softball Interviews

CNN’s Brian Stelter was faced backlash for what appeared to be a softball interview with White House press secretary Jen Psaki, in which his first question focused on what the media “gets wrong” in covering the Biden White House.

Stelter began the interview with, “The White House press secretary faces some unique challenges. Busy summer ahead – infrastructure, election reform.”

“What does the press get wrong when covering Biden’s agenda? When you watch the news, when you read the news, what do you think we get wrong?” he asked.

“Some of our muscles have atrophied,” Psaki responded, suggesting that the media may have forgotten the amount of time it takes to get legislation passed when criticizing the administration.

“I don’t know if that’s the press getting it wrong,” Psaki continued. “I’ll leave you to the critique of that, Brian.”

Newsbusters news analyst Nicholas Fondacaro accused Stelter’s opening questions of “bootlicking.”

Later on during the interview, Stelter asked Psaki to offer more advice for journalists, urging her to share guidance for reporters “to stay close to the truth in this world of lies.”

Several other biased questions included, “Five months in, do you feel like that you’ve made any progress with … defeating the lies?” and “Given the craziness we’re seeing from the GOP, what kind of country is this going to be?”

The hardest-hitting question Stelter asked Psaki by far was why President Biden hasn’t held more than one solo press conference, which Psaki scooted past, noting that he “takes questions several times a week.”

Once again, pressing issues that were notably absent were questions about Biden’s ongoing border crisis and the White House’s continued blind trust in chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci despite his new email controversy.

  • Harris Blames The Border Crisis On Climate But Guatemalan President Knows The Truth

Harris Blames The Border Crisis On Climate But Guatemalan President Knows The Truth

Vice President Kamala Harris’ staff would argue that the “main drivers” in the surge of incoming migrants to the southern border are climate change and the economy but the president of Guatemala would beg to differ.

After Harris spokesperson Symone Sanders pointed to these two factors as the cause of over 178,000 migrants flooding the border in April, and even more in the following months,  Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei blamed President Joe Biden and the U.S. administration for the crisis.

Critics emphasized the role corruption plays in forcing migrants to make their way north of the border.

“We see corruption as one of the most important root causes to be dealt with,” special envoy Richard Zuniga said.

Critics have blamed the Biden administration’s rollback of Trump-era border restrictions and interior enforcement policies that they say have sent the signal to migrants that the border is open. The Biden administration has denied that, saying that the border is closed. Instead, it has emphasized the “root causes” of the crisis – focusing on climate, poverty, crime and corruption in Central America.

Harris, who was put in charge of diplomatic outreach to solve the crisis in March, has also emphasized the “root causes.”

“I’m thinking of corruption, violence and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience, the lack of good governance,” she said last month.

Harris flew to Guatemala on a two-day trip to the region where she will meet with President Alejandro Giammattei. According to her office, she will consider increasing economic opportunities and strengthening the rule of law, and deeper bilateral law enforcement cooperation, among other pressing issues that are way past due for resolution. After that meeting and several others scheduled with local community leaders and business owners, Harris will travel to Mexico.

  • WATCH The Chaos That Breaks Lose When America Beats Mexico At Its Own Game

WATCH The Chaos That Breaks Lose When America Beats Mexico At Its Own Game

Over the weekend the United States men’s national soccer team won 3-2 over Mexico and fans lost their minds.

The CONCACAF Nations League final held in Denver had to be halted at one point because the unruly crowd began chanting homophobic slurs and proceeded to throw trash at the players after American secured the victory with Christian Pulisic’s penalty kick.

USMNT player Giovanni Reyna was struck in the face with what appears to be a bottle and had to take several minutes to recover.

    https://twitter.com/TonyClementsTC/status/1401753768849465346?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1401753768849465346%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdailycaller.com%2F2021%2F06%2F07%2Fmexico-usmnt-bottles-thrown-soccer-videos%2F

Then, all hell broke loose on the field when players from both teams got into a confrontation and had to be broken up.

This was defiantly not the best representation of the sport’s fans. By multiple accounts, it seems like fans of Mexico were responsible for this violence after America won the game.

    https://twitter.com/wilson_conn/status/1401757662115627014?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1401757662115627014%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdailycaller.com%2F2021%2F06%2F07%2Fmexico-usmnt-bottles-thrown-soccer-videos%2F

If you don’t like getting your butt handed to you by America, then play better next time. But don’t throw a tantrum like an angry toddle who just lost the game. Its just bad sportsmanship.

While I’m not much of a sports fan in general, I’ll always side with America whatever we’re playing. If they want to take things off the field, then they’ll find out real fast America doesn’t back down.

  • Meghan And Harry Take A Jab At The Queen With New Baby Name

Meghan And Harry Take A Jab At The Queen With New Baby Name

Last week Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their second child, a girl which they named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Royal biographer, Angela Levin is not happy with the name suggesting that the couple’s decision is “rude” toward Queen Elizabeth II. According to Levin, Lilibet was the private nickname frequently used by the queen’s late husband, Prince Philip, who died just two months ago.

The pet name goes back to the queen’s early childhood when she could not yet pronounce her own name, calling herself “Lilibet” instead. Soon other members of the royal family took up the nickname. Even King George VI, the future queen’s father, was once quoted saying, “Lilibet is my pride. Margaret is my joy.”

“I don’t think it’s a good idea — I think it’s quite rude to Her Majesty Her Queen. It was a very private nickname from her husband, who hasn’t been dead for very long,” Levin said while appearing on “Good Morning Britain.”

“Prince Charles would never dream of calling his mother Lilibet,” she added.

“We knew what it was but it was his name — [the Duke of Edinburgh] wanted that name for her, it was a special name, I think it’s quite demeaning, I really believe that,” Levin continued.

She noted that 36-year-old Harry “did mention to his grandmother” that he would be naming his daughter after her — “but I bet you he didn’t say, ‘I’m going choose Lilibet.’”

The couple chose to give the newborn the middle name “Diana” in honor of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, which could also be seen as a dig at the queen.

There are some, however, who view the name as a tribute to the queen or a not-so-subtle attempt at a royal reconciliation. Either way the moniker will live on as the official statement announcing the child’s birth read, “Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.”

  • You Won’t Believe Where Jeff Bezos Is Planning To Visit

You Won’t Believe Where Jeff Bezos Is Planning To Visit

It seems like most of the world’s elite have decided to head to space in the upcoming years. Jeff Bezos has made his intentions clear on Monday after he stepped down as CEO of Amazon. And Bezo is heading to space very soon.

Next month, Bezos, 57, will join the first crewed flight of the New Shepard, the rocket ship made by his space company Blue Origin, which he founded in 2000. The flight will take off on July 20, the anniversary of the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing.

“Ever since I was five years old, I’ve dreamed of traveling to space,” Bezos said in an Instagram post on Monday. “On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend.”

Bezos is going on a space flight with his younger brother, Mark Bezos.

“If you see the earth from space, it changes you. It changes your relationship with this planet, with humanity. It’s one earth,” Bezos said in a video accompanying the post. “I wanted to go on this flight because it’s a thing I’ve wanted to do all my life. It’s an adventure. It’s a big deal for me.”

Bezos ended his post with Blue Origin’s motto of “Gradatim Ferociter.” Which when translated from Latin means “to step with ferocity.”

The 59-foot rocket capsule will bring Bezo and 5 others into the sub orbit where they will float for about 11 minutes then make the ascension to 60 miles above the earth.

  • Freedom Fund Backed By VP Lets Criminal Protesters Walk Out Of Jail

Freedom Fund Backed By VP Lets Criminal Protesters Walk Out Of Jail

Vice President Kamala Harris is backing the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which is a bail fund used to help get people out of jail during the environmental protests against the Line 3 pipeline.

Several conservation groups have become involved in organizing protests against the pipeline project in northern Minnesota and have informed individuals of the MFF giving more aggressive protesters no reason to fear getting arrested because they know our Vice President will bail them out.

Last summer, Vice President Kamala Harris begged Twitter followers to give money to the MFF to help Black Lives Matter protesters post bail during the violent riots.

The Pipeline Legal Action Network, a group vowing to arrange the legal needs of these protesters, announced on its website that “The Minnesota Freedom Fund has committed to supporting the movement for all bail needs.”

Not only that but several other local organizations are directing people who couldn’t make it to the protest to donate money to the MFF.

The number of people who did make it up to join the protests have ranged in the thousands over the past couple of days. Their main complaint being the pipeline infringing on Native American land and the harm it causes to the environment.

There has been nearly 200 arrests since Monday but only 68 of them were issued citations in relation to the Line 3 protests. A group made up of several Minnesota police departments, known as the Northern Lights Task Force, has assembled to establish and enforce the law during protests.

Line 3 pipeline, controlled by a Canadian oil company, has only completed about half of the $4 billion replacement construction. The pipeline’s purpose is to transport tar sands oil from Canada to the United States, which it has done for over half a century.
