In the early hours of Wednesday morning, free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman, formerly NFL All-Star from the Seattle Seahawks, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and domestic violence. Sherman was arrested after crashing his black Mercedes sedan, according to officials.

According to The Seattle Times, Sherman attempted to walk away from police when they informed him that they were placing him under arrest. A police dog was used to apprehend Sherman, who suffered a cut on his lower leg during the arrest.

While on the call with the emergency dispatcher, Ashley Sherman can be heard requesting officer assistance, saying that her “husband is drunk and threatening to kill himself.”

“He is being aggressive, he’s wrestling with my uncle, he’s threatening to kill himself, he has sent text messages to people saying he’s going to hang himself … he said that if the police show up he’ll try to fight them,” Ashley Sherman said to the dispatcher.

The dispatcher asked if Sherman had been physical with anyone at the residence.

“Yes, yes it has,” Ashley said. “He just tried to fight him.”

The woman can also be heard asking Sherman to stop and informs the dispatcher that he was attempting to leave in a black Mercedes SUV.

“Richard, please stop. Please stop,” Ashley Sherman can be heard saying.

King County District Court Judge Fa’amomoi Masaniai found probable cause that Sherman committed criminal trespassing, malicious mischief, driving under the influence, and resisting arrest. He was initially booked on a felony residential burglary. Sherman is not allowed to have contact with his father-in-law and he cannot use alcohol or nonprescription drugs, the judge ordered.

According to an investigative New York Times bestselling journalist, Ghislaine Maxwell, an accused child sex trafficker who was the girlfriend of the now-late Jeffrey Epstein, used former President Bill Clinton and his connections to “escape” from Epstein.

Vicky Ward stated that Clinton made a trip on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet, the “Lolita Express,” in February 2005 and on a trip with Ghislaine Maxwell as a passenger in November 2003; both of those trips had been previously undisclosed.

Ward added that on the India trip, Maxwell was part of the official Clinton party, and they stayed at the same hotel.

Vicky Ward stated that Maxwell wanted to “escape” from Epstein in the 2000s and thus used Clinton to do so. Ward said, according to the Daily Mail:

Ghislaine used former President Bill Clinton for her escape. Remember, Clinton’s post-presidency was an exciting, very attractive place to be. He and an entourage went on fascinating trips to Europe, to Asia, to Africa and he met with extremely interesting people. Now, records I’ve seen recently show that in 2003, Ghislaine visited the Taj Mahal with Bill Clinton and a group of around 20 others. This trip has not previously been reported. Jeffrey wasn’t on it. And that was key in cementing Ghislaine’s rise as a VIP in her own right in Clinton World, according to sources close to Bill Clinton.

British journalist Christopher Mason told Ward, “She was always, you know, on her way to something, to see someone of extraordinary importance. She was very excited by what she was about to do. And she told me that she was off to see Bill Clinton, and that — that seemed to be a leitmotif in her conversation for quite a long time.”

Ward continued. “I’ve also only recently learned from sources close to Bill Clinton that he and his post-presidency staff considered Ghislaine to be just as important as Jeffrey — if not more so. She was the go-to person for ‘financial asks’ for Jeffrey’s money by the Clinton Foundation and then the Global Initiative. … This meant that Ghislaine was constantly being asked to attend Clinton VIP gatherings.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2020, a former close aide to Bill Clinton, Doug Band, claimed he had tried to get Clinton to break ties with Epstein as early as 2002. Vanity Fair reported:

A Clinton family spokesperson said Chelsea was on friendly terms with Maxwell because of a mutual friend (Gateway computer founder Ted Waitt) and only took one yacht trip with Maxwell in 2009: “It wasn’t until 2015 that Chelsea became aware of the horrific allegations against Ghislaine Maxwell and she hopes that all the victims find justice. Chelsea was friendly with her because of Maxwell’s relationship with a dear friend. When that relationship ended, Chelsea’s relationship with her ended as well.”

In late October 2011, Band instructed Bill Clinton’s office to bar Maxwell from all Clintonworld events as a way of driving a wedge between Maxwell and Chelsea. “I knew in telling everyone to stop including Ghislaine that Chelsea and her father would be very angry. It made it harder for them to justify being close to her,” Band said.

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy appeared to hit a nerve with press secretary Jen Psaki when he began asking about the President’s public support of Texas lawmakers hiding out in Washington.

Doocy dove right into a hypothetical question during a press briefing which compared what the Texas Democrats are doing now, fleeing the state to avoid passing a voter integrity measure, with Biden’s action as a U.S. Senator.

Doocy cut right to the chase, “Do you know any examples from his 36 years in the Senate that Joe Biden just hopped on a train and left town to avoid a vote that he knew he was going to lose?”

Psaki forced a laugh then said, “Welcome back.”

“Look,” she continued on a more serious note, “I think the president’s view is that these Texas legislators were making a statement through action in opposition to efforts in their state to oppose restrictions on people’s fundamental rights.”

But Doocy wasn’t laughing, “Maybe it is funny to think about it that way but the president is talking about this as the most serious assault on democracy since the Civil War.”

“I don’t think anything about this is funny,” Psaki interrupted adding that 28 states are in favor of passing laws making it harder for people to vote. Then she reminded reporters that Vice President Kamala Harris sat down with the Texas Democrats and that President Joe Biden defended their decision to flee the state and avoid the Texas legislation.

Doocy pushed harder, stating that Biden had run his campaign on promises to work across the aisle with Republicans and asking whether the Texas Democrats would be better able to effect change if they went back to Texas and sat down at the negotiating table.

“Does [Biden] think that the best way to keep something bad from happening — that he thinks is bad — from happening in Texas is for these lawmakers to be hiding out in a different state or for them to go back and sit down at the table?” Doocy asked.

Psaki would only say that Biden would not pick sides and hopes everyone can come to an agreement.

Senator Josh Hawley did not hold back while calling out the Biden administration’s “insane” push for text messaging surveillance in an effort to eliminate any vaccine “misinformation” claiming the President’s actions are eerily similar to “something out of Beijing” and challenging its legality.

SEN. JOSH HAWLEY: It sounds like something out of Beijing. I mean, we know that the Communist Chinese Party has built this surveillance state and now it sounds like Joe Biden wants to bring that to the United States of America. I mean, getting into our phones now, it’s bad enough that they use social media to censor us, to spy on us, to shut down speech. But now private text messages, I mean, what’s going to happen next are going to take away our phones. Are they going to tell Verizon or AT&T or whomever to shut down people’s cell service if they text things that the government doesn’t like? This is insane. It is un-American. It’s probably unconstitutional.

I can’t imagine that the government has the power to look at our text messages without a warrant. I mean, under our current law, they don’t. Here’s what worries me, though. Pressuring the phone companies, pressuring Verizon and AT&T and whomever else to voluntarily, quote-unquote, comply and tell them, tell the government what we’re texting, what we’re saying on our private messages. That’s the real danger here. It’s this big government, big corporation alliance. That’s what we’ve got to be wary of. But we’ve got to say, come on, I mean, let’s stand up for free speech in this country.

At this point in time, the number of Americans who were hoping to receive a COVID-19 vaccine is nearly equal to the number of Americans who’ve actually received an inoculation, which, for many, would be considered a measure of great success.

But not in this highly polarized day and age, in which every single aspect of our lives is now divided down politically charged lines. In this case, the vaccination push has become a left-wing thing, with many on the right side of the aisle sticking up for those who’ve chosen not to receive a jab.

In fact, the issue has become so terribly fraught with political ramifications that guests on CNN are now suggesting that those who’ve made the decision to refrain from being vaccinated should be made to suffer. 

CNN medical contributor Dr. Leana Wen suggested Saturday that life needs to be “hard” for Americans who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine and individuals who refuse to get shots should perhaps face weekly testings.

“It needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated,” Wen, the former Planned Parenthood president, said. “Right now, it’s kind of the opposite.”

Unvaccinated people, she fretted, can at the moment go about their lives as normal without any consequence.

“But at some point these mandates, by workplaces, by schools, I think it will be important to say, ‘Hey, you can opt out, but if you want to opt-out, you have to sign these forms, you have to get twice-weekly testing,’” Wen said. “Basically, we need to make getting vaccinated the easy choice.”

The ridiculous assertion is likely to anger a great many Americans, who’ve made the personal and inalienable choice to skip the swiftly-produced vaccines at this time.

There were many notable moments during the McGregor vs. Poirier UFC fight and not all of them happened inside the ring. Everyone who’s anyone came out to watch the event including movie star actress Megan Fox.

Being an A-lister, Fox was seated in the VIP section along with all the other stars like Mel Gibson, Jared Leto, and a Kardashian or two. But in the massive crowd of Hollywood stars, Fox found herself seated to one of the most important people in the country and she had some mixed feelings about it.

Megan Fox talked about sitting near former President Donald Trump at the Conor McGregor-Dustin Poirier UFC fight in Las Vegas, calling him a “legend.”

“I was in a row with [Justin] Bieber, [Donald] Trump was also in my row,” the 35-year-old actress revealed during her appearance on the Tuesday “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show.

“And I’ve never seen a secret service person before,” she added. “So, he [Trump] had like 30 secret service with him. He was a legend. That arena was, like, very supportive of Trump when he came in.”

“I was like, ‘I don’t know how I feel about this, because if someone is a target, then I’m like, I could get harmed because I am like adjacent to where he is.’ So, I was worried about my own safety, that’s all I was caring about.”

Fox, who has starred in many box office hits like “Jennifer’s Body” and “Transformers,” said she had never seen anything quite like it and said the encounter was bazaar.

Former President Donald Trump was welcomed by a sea of cheers from the crowd unlike the CEO of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft, whose image on the jumbotron incited a roar of boos.

Senator Chuck Schumer of New York has announced his plans to end the criminalization of marijuana at the federal level by using his weight as the majority leader behind the growing movement to make marijuana use recreational.

The new piece of legislation called the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act, would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substance Act and begin regulating it with new federal rules and guidelines. This would expand the burgeoning industry after many years of uncertainty.

States would still be allowed to set their own marijuana laws, businesses and individuals in states that have legalized its use would be free for the first time to sell and consume it without the risk of federal punishment.

The proposal would also try to make recompense to communities of color and the poor for damage from years of restrictive federal drug policy. It calls for immediately expunging nonviolent marijuana-related arrests and convictions from federal records and would earmark new tax revenue for restorative justice programs intended to lift up communities affected by “the failed federal prohibition of cannabis.”

The bill aims to “finally turn the page on this dark chapter in American history and begin righting these wrongs,” said Senator Cory Booker, Democrat of New Jersey.

The suggestion that the Senate’s top leader and the chairman of the powerful Finance Committee would sponsor major decriminalization legislation would have been fantastical in the not-too-distant past.

In a speech on April 20, the unofficial holiday for marijuana smokers, Mr. Schumer said he was trying to prod Washington off the sidelines of a debate in which much of the country was already engaged. Public opinion polling suggests that nearly 70 percent of Americans support legalizing marijuana. Thirty-seven states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for medical use, and 18 states plus D.C. allow recreational use by adults.

Mr. Schumer has also made no secret that he believes Democrats stand to benefit politically from embracing the legalization push, particularly with young voters.

“Hopefully, the next time this unofficial holiday of 4/20 rolls around, our country will have made progress in addressing the massive overcriminalization of marijuana in a meaningful and comprehensive way,” he said in April.

Amy Wilhite, 39, from Missouri, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for smuggling a gun into a county jail hidden in her secret hiding spot.

According to a report by The Smoking Gun, the 39-year-old had been arrested in February for drug and gun-related charges. She passed the initial body search by the Columbia Police Department when she was booked into the Boone County Jail. Seventeen days into her sentence, jailers discovered the .22 caliber revolver loaded with five rounds wrapped in plastic among Wilhite’s items in jail.

Investigators allege Wilhite concealed the small weapon inside her vagina to avoid detection but later “removed the firearm from her body and concealed it within her personal belongings.”

“During questioning at the jail, Wilhite admitted possessing the firearm, but claimed ‘she was only holding it for another female detainee.’ But fellow inmates in Wilhite’s housing unit ‘all stated Amy was in possession of the firearm,’” an investigator reported,” the outlet wrote. “In addition to copping to the gun smuggling charge, Wilhite pleaded guilty on April 19 to the felony drug and weapons counts for which she was originally arrested. She was ordered to serve five years on each conviction, with the sentences to run concurrently with the 10-year prison term.”

Not surprisingly, other women have smuggled items into prison in their vaginas as well. In 2013, an Oklahoma woman was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for concealing a loaded handgun in her vagina after being arrested on a drug charge, the Smoking Gun reported at the time.

“Christie Dawn Harris, 28, last week entered no-contest pleas to three felony counts during a hearing in Pontotoc County District Court. Harris, whose rap sheet already includes multiple felony convictions, copped on June 27 to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, gun possession, and bringing contraband into jail,” the outlet reported.

Harris had been arrested after a drug dog alerted police to her vehicle, where police found meth, drug paraphernalia, a gun, and a loaded magazine. When she was being transported to the local jail, Harris told an officer “several times that she needed to go to the bathroom,” the police department reported.

Police found the gun sticking out of her vagina while being searched ahead of booking.

The Minneapolis police chief finally came out and said the quiet part of the truth that no one has spoken up against yet. He asserted over the weekend that the “police are not the biggest threat to the safety of the city” after a three-year-old was placed in critical condition after being shot Friday.

“The biggest threat to public safety in our city, and particularly to our African-American community, is not the police,” Chief Medaria Arradondo said. “We have an epidemic right now of unequivocal gun violence, particularly in our African-American communities. And that must stop.”

The chief’s remarks came during a press conference on Saturday afternoon regarding the shooting, which took place on Friday night on the 3300 Block of Emerson Avenue North in Minneapolis.

Police were called to the address about 9:47 p.m. on a report of a child being shot. Initial police dispatches indicated the child was 10, but the information was later updated stating the child was three years old.

The chief said when officers arrived at the location of the shooting, they observed that the child had suffered a critical gunshot wound. Officers made the decision to transport the child to the hospital in a squad car instead of waiting for the ambulance, which was reported to be three or four minutes away.

Chief Arradondo praised the officers for their quick action and said they “made the right choice.” He said had the officers not made the decision to transport, he could very well be reporting the death of another child in Minneapolis.

A sting operation carried out in Rome last week led to priests, who were actually Italian police, arresting a group of cardinals who were really criminals in disguise. It sounds like the opening to a bad joke but it really happened after police came up with a plan to catch five scammers who had already stolen about €1.7 million, or just over $2 million, from 20 different victims.

The scammers tricked their victims into meeting them in churches near the Vatican or at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Major Fabio Valletta told Agence France-Presse (AFP), according to Deutsche Welle (DW).

There, dressed as cardinals, they would present themselves as Vatican intermediaries promising business people in financial straits that they could secure loans on their behalf from the Vatican bank.

The fake cardinals’ only demand was that the victims paid them in cash upfront for their services, according to reporting from DW and The Times.

Once the victims and the pseudo cardinals could come to an agreement, the crooks would disappear with their money.

When Carabinieri officers caught the thieves red-handed, they had witnessed the swindlers receiving €15,000 ($17,728) in cash from a victim, the Daily Sabah reported. The crooks had assured the victim that they would help them secure a loan of €500,000.

Law enforcement caught the fraudsters when they headed for the back door after getting the money, the outlet reported.

When cops caught the group’s alleged leader, Lucio Cesaroni, he was recorded saying: “How can the Carabinieri arrest me? I am extraterritorial.”

Police began their investigation into this group of five several years ago after two hotel operators reported that they had been tricked out of €20,000 and €75,000.
