Mac’s Public House was breaking coronavirus health orders by continuing to serve customers indoors so sheriff’s deputies raided the establishment and closed it down. The customers are furious not only because their favorite hangout had been shut down but also because one of the owners, Danny Presti was arrested during the raid for being uncooperative.
While Presti was being hauled out of his business, many of the patrons gathered outside and chanted in protest “Hands off Mac’s Public House.”

The unrest began to escalate outside of the bar so State Senator Andrew Lanza appeared and attempted to play as a peaceful mediator between Presti’s lawyer, the authorities, and angry patrons.
He said in protest of the government, “If they fear you, they won’t f*ck with you” and pointed out the hypocrisy of the state’s new lockdown rules.
