Angie Craig (D-MN). After receiving tips from members of the public, police were able to make an arrest.<\/p>\n
According to the U.S. Capitol Police, the suspect is believed to be a homeless man and is now facing charges of simple assault. Let\u2019s take a look at how this story has unfolded.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Thursday morning at around 7:15 a.m. when Craig said she saw the suspect in the lobby area of her apartment building \u201cacting erratic\u201d as if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. When she tried to pass him on an elevator, she says he began assaulting her and pushing her out of the way until someone else came along and intervened. No serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The Metropolitan Police Department then released a photo of the suspect taken by surveillance cameras in an effort to identify him for a simple assault offense and asked for help from members of the public. After receiving tips from multiple people, police arrested 26-year-old Kendrick Hamlin \u201cAKA Hamlin Khalil Hamlin,\u201d who did not have a fixed address, on Sunday night in connection with this incident. He is now facing charges for simple assault and is expected to appear in court today for his arraignment hearing.<\/p>\n
