A couple in Illinois was startled to learn that they had a connection to a court case going on in Wisconsin since they had moved into an apartment where Kenosha shooter, Kyle Rittenhouse, had once lived.<\/p>\n

Anna Mueller and Aiden Earl explained they were not aware when they moved into the apartment that its location had been made public as part of an ongoing criminal case against the teenager who is facing a multitude of charges including homicide and being a teenager in the possession of a gun.<\/p>\n

Earl told the local news station, “We were shocked for obvious reason,” and later added, “No, we’re not connected to Kyle Rittenhouse in any sort of way and he does not live here anymore. So hopefully people kind of leave us be.”<\/p>\n

“We’re realizing that our address is very public to whoever wants it. There’s been a lot of, ‘OK, make sure the blinds stay closed, make sure those doors are locked, double-checking everything again,” said Mueller.<\/p>\n

According to prosecutors, after posting a $2 million cash bond in November Rittenhouse moved out of the apartment he shared with his mother and did not give the courts his new address.<\/p>\n

Rittenhouse is accused of shooting Joseph Rosenbaum, Anthony Huber, and Gaige Grosskreutz. Rosenbaum and Huber were killed and Grosskreutz was left wounded.<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred during a demonstration that formed after a police officer shot Jacob Black. Rittenhouse traveled to Kenosha in response to a call for people to protect businesses and claims he shot the protesters in self-defense.<\/p>\n

A hearing has been scheduled for this week to determine whether Rittenhouse will be arrested or have his bail increased after he failed to update his new address with the court.<\/p>\n

Defense attorneys argue that Rittenhouse moved to an “undisclosed safe house” after he got out of jail due to the many threats he had received. They offered to reveal the address if prosecutors would keep it secret but they refused to, citing the address as public record.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
