Biden Scurries Away From Reporters Throwing Questions

On Thursday, President Biden abruptly interrupted a press conference by turning away as reporters screamed their inquiries and saying, “I’m out of here.”

During a press conference in Madrid, Spain, after the NATO Summit, Biden responded to a number of inquiries from a pre-determined list of reporters before he said, “All right, guys,” and made an effort to wrap things up. Even though there were still several reporters who wanted to ask questions and a crowd member promised to answer quickly, Biden cut off the line of communication.

“There’s no such thing as a quick one. I’m out of here,” Biden said as he ran away from the podium even as reporters raised their hands for questions. He smiled as he fled the stage while confused voices were heard shouting after him. This isn’t the first time Biden simply walked away from reporters attempting to ask questions.

Earlier in the press conference, Biden would only call upon reporters from a pre-determined list.

“I’ll be happy to take your questions, and the first question, I’m told, is Darlene Superville from The Associated Press,” he said as he read off a piece of paper like a script.

He would need to refer to the paper several more times when calling on reporters.

Last week, Biden flashed a note card detailing foolproof directions such as, “YOU enter the Roosevelt Room and say hello to participants” and “YOU take YOUR seat.”
