Denver has experienced an upward trend of active shootings since the beginning of August.
According to a report published in the Westword, fourteen people were shot in eight separate occurrences in downtown Denver between August 6 and August 8. Following the Colorado Rockies’ baseball game on August 6, a concession worker was fatally shot and another man died after being injured in a shooting incident.
The incident took place last Friday, Fox News said, and two suspects were detained and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault. One of the suspects allegedly got into a dispute with the individual who was fatally shot, with the other suspect on contract to work in concessions at the stadium.
The four males detained in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old student outside a Denver school on Tuesday were reportedly from different Denver neighborhoods, the Denver Post reported. A fifth suspect who is believed to be related to the group’s alleged crime spree is still at large.
